0On August 16, Beijing time, Serie A champions Inter Milan officially announced the signing of 26-year-old English full-back Djed Spence from Tottenham Hotspur on a five-year contract until 2031.

According to previous media reports, the total transfer fee for Spence is €35 million, with €5 million in performance-related clauses. Tottenham also keeps a 10% sell-on clause. Spence's annual salary at Inter is €3 million plus bonuses.
Born on August 9, 2000, Spence is capable of playing as a full-back on either flank. He was born in London to Jamaican parents. In July 2022, Spence joined Tottenham Hotspur for a transfer fee of €14.7 million. He was subsequently loaned to Rennes, Leeds United, and Genoa for development.

Last season, Spence made 44 appearances for Tottenham. In the World Cup that ended this summer, Spence started as the primary full-back for England, playing in all eight matches. He delivered outstanding performances and was a crucial figure in England's journey to securing third place.

Currently, Spence's latest market value on Transfermarkt is €40 million. Inter's ability to sign him in his prime for a fee below his market value truly makes it a bargain deal.
Previously, Inter had already signed another England international, John Stones, on a free transfer. Additionally, Inter is actively working to sign Liverpool's England international midfielder Curtis Jones.
