Zirkzee scored two goals in warm-up, but Manchester United still want to sell him! The new Luke Shaw is appreciated by two clubs, may go to the Championship.

Joshua Zirkzee, a Manchester United striker, stood out during preseason with two impressive goals, leading some to think he deserves more opportunities to prove his worth. Given that United's main striker Benjamin Šeško has been sidelined with injury since the end of last season, Carrick could rely on Zirkzee as a backup in the early part of the season.

Carrick's first choice is to have Mbeumo play as the center forward. When Zirkzee started against Leeds United, he played as a number 10 rather than a striker. However, club reporter Andy Mitten stated on The Athletic that Manchester United still want to sell the 25-year-old Dutch player.

Several Serie A clubs are interested in Zirkzee, especially Juventus. Mitten said: "I think Zirkzee has no future at Manchester United. His training attitude is good, and he has shown flashes of brilliance, but for a transfer fee of €42.5 million, his performances so far are far from satisfactory. He is very popular among teammates, but several Italian clubs have shown interest in him. I think the key is which club can reach an agreement with Manchester United."

Juventus have reportedly made two inquiries to Manchester United about Zirkzee. The Athletic's Laurie Whitwell said that United told Juventus they will not simply loan out Zirkzee, and a loan with an option to buy is also not enough. The Red Devils want a guaranteed permanent transfer obligation, at least like the model Napoli used when signing Højlund.

This is a lesson learned from the cases of Sancho and Rashford, who were loaned to Chelsea, Aston Villa, and Barcelona respectively, but none of the purchase options were activated.

Whitwell said: "Juventus have shown interest, and I think it's possible to complete a deal for Zirkzee in the form of a loan with a purchase obligation. I would be very surprised if Manchester United again choose a loan with only an option to buy."

Juventus need to sell a player first before they can bring in Zirkzee, so this deal may drag on until the final moments of the summer window. Zirkzee is likely to start his new season at Manchester United. The Premier League kicks off on August 22, while the transfer window remains open until September 1.

Manchester United also plan to sell young left-back Harry Amass this summer. Sources indicate that the club prefers a permanent transfer. Championship-bound West Ham United have been keeping an eye on him. If they sell their own left-back Haji Malick Diouf, they will consider bringing in the 19-year-old United youngster as a replacement.

Premier League side Brentford have already made a £35 million bid, plus £5 million in add-ons, to sign Diouf. West Ham believe Amass could be a replacement; the latter played in the Championship last season, performed well for Sheffield Wednesday, and proved he can compete at that level.

The Sun's Manchester United correspondent Samuel Luckhurst said that another Championship club, Norwich City, are also interested in Amass. They loaned him in the second half of last season, but he was injured and missed the rest of the season. Now the Canaries want to renew the loan, but Manchester United require a mandatory purchase obligation of £6 million before considering another loan.

Many Manchester United fans who are passionate about youth development believe that Amass could be kept as a backup left-back. However, the club may still bring in a new left-back. Even if Carrick does not make a signing, more experienced players like Diogo Dalot and Mazraoui will be the first choices to rotate with Luke Shaw, rather than Amass.

Therefore, Amass, nicknamed "the new Luke Shaw," if he stays at Manchester United, will mostly serve as a backup to the real Luke Shaw, training with the first team but spending long periods on the bench, at most playing in U21 youth matches. This is definitely not the best choice for his personal development.
