Kylian Mbappe: Mourinho is the god of victory, Real Madrid will lift the trophy this season

Kylian Mbappe showered praise on coach Jose Mourinho immediately after coming back to Real Madrid, and also affirmed that the Royal club will surely claim honors in the upcoming season.

Superstar Kylian Mbappe has returned to training with Real Madrid at Valdebebas after completing his World Cup duties. In an interview with Real Madrid TV, the French striker quickly drew attention when speaking about coach Jose Mourinho and the ambitions of the Royal club for the new season.

Mbappe revealed that he and Mourinho have actually been in contact even before both officially started working together at Real Madrid. During the time the French striker was at the World Cup, the Portuguese tactician frequently exchanged messages with him.

“Mourinho and I talked a lot during the World Cup. He communicated with me a great deal,”Mbappe shared.

Even more notable is how the French star assessed the new Real Madrid coach. According to Mbappe, Mourinho possesses the most important quality for a club that always sets the highest goals like Los Blancos: knowing how to win.

“I think having a coach like that is very positive. He knows how to win and knows how to show the team the path to victory. I believe every player is happy to have a coach who knows where he is going,”Mbappe said.

Mbappe's comment is not without foundation. Throughout his managerial career, Mourinho has always been seen as a winning guarantee, with a vast collection of trophies spanning from Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan to Real Madrid and Manchester United. Notably, right at the Bernabeu, the Portuguese tactician once helped Real Madrid break Barcelona's dominance to win the 2011/12 La Liga title with a record 100 points.

The French striker himself enters the new season with great ambition. Mbappe said he is making the most of the preparation period to improve his physical condition, before a packed schedule forces players to calculate their workload more carefully.

But for Mbappe, everything ultimately comes down to one thing: winning. He had an almost perfect Real Madrid debut, scoring and immediately lifting a trophy in his very first match. That was a special memory, but for the French striker, fulfilling the dream of wearing the Los Blancos jersey is now a story of the past. The next step must be titles. “We have to win. I am sure that we will win titles again this year. That is what we want and that is what will happen,”Mbappe declared.
