Vietnam national team excited ahead of ASEAN Cup semi-final

Vietnam national team enters final preparations for the first leg of the ASEAN Cup 2026 semi-final against host Malaysia with an excited spirit and full squad.

On the afternoon of August 14, Coach Kim Sang Sik and his team had a training session at Padang Kelab Aman, a private field in Kuala Lumpur arranged by the organizers. The pitch uses ginger leaf grass, similar to the official match field, helping players quickly adapt to conditions.

The training atmosphere was quite relaxed. Dinh Bac, the top scorer of the tournament with 5 goals, kept laughing and joking with his teammates.

Because the training ground is an open space, the coaching staff mainly had players perform high-speed movement drills, not going deep into tactics to avoid revealing their plans.

Today, August 15, the Vietnam national team will have a one-hour familiarization session at the Kuala Lumpur match stadium. Before the training, Coach Kim Sang Sik and captain Nguyen Quang Hai will attend the pre-match press conference.

Vietnam women's team accelerates for ASIAD 2026

The Vietnam women's national team is speeding up preparations for ASIAD 2026, with a plan combining professional training, friendly matches, and enhancing anti-doping knowledge.

On the afternoon of August 14, members of the Vietnam women's national team participated in a training session and media education on anti-doping at the headquarters of the Vietnam Football Federation. The program helps players update regulations, raise awareness of compliance, and complete certificates on the ADLE system.

This is part of the preparation plan of Coach Hoang Van Phuc and his team for ASIAD 2026 in Japan. The team is currently gathering at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center from August 7 to 30 and is expected to have three domestic friendly matches to test the squad.

At the beginning of September, the Vietnam women's team will go to China for training and play two friendly matches.

Midfielder Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy said that the weather in Hanoi is hot, but the whole team maintains spirit, encourages each other according to the training plan, and adapts to the training conditions.

Park Hang Seo's team big win over HAGL

Kanchanaburi Power FC of Coach Park Hang Seo won 6-2 against HAGL in a friendly match in Thailand, as both teams prepare for the 2026/27 season.

On the afternoon of August 14, HAGL played their second friendly match during their training trip in Thailand, facing Kanchanaburi Power FC, a team playing in Thai League 2 and led by Coach Park Hang Seo.

With a squad consisting of many young players, the Mountain City team faced many difficulties and let their opponents win 6-2. HAGL's two goals were scored by Nay Di Dan and Nguyen Minh Tam.

This result also drew attention because just one day earlier, Kanchanaburi Power FC had lost 0-3 to Burapha United, a team playing in Thai League 3.

Previously, HAGL defeated Suphanburi FC 2-1. Coach Le Quang Trai's team still has three friendly matches against Ratchaburi, Uthai Thani, and Pattani before returning to Vietnam.
