Can't escape relegation? The bottom team in the Chinese Super League collapses with six consecutive losses, sets a record of conceding goals for 17 straight rounds, and faces two crucial matches ahead.

In the 23rd round of the Chinese Super League, which ended on August 14 Beijing time, a "Qilu" derby saw Qingdao Hainiu lose 1-3 away to Shandong Taishan, suffering six consecutive losses in the CSL, dropping to the bottom of the standings, and facing a severe relegation situation. Before this match, many fans believed that Shandong Taishan, as the provincial big brother, would "give a hand" to Hainiu at this critical moment for survival, but in the end, Taishan showed no mercy.

In-form players Crysan and Liu Yang scored two goals within the first four minutes, helping Taishan establish an early lead. Although Jin Yonghao pulled one back for Hainiu, a goal from substitute Li Xiaohang in the second half sealed the victory for Taishan.

Taishan finally ended their winless streak against Hainiu in four CSL meetings and successfully avenged their 1-4 defeat in the first leg. With this victory, Taishan temporarily moved up to second place in the CSL standings.

After this loss, Hainiu has suffered six consecutive defeats in the CSL. They have failed to keep a clean sheet in 17 consecutive CSL matches, setting a new club record for the longest streak of conceding goals in the league.

Currently, Hainiu has only 14 points after 23 rounds, remaining at the bottom of the standings. They are one point and three points behind their two relegation rivals, Three Towns and Tianjin Jinmen Tiger, respectively.

What worries Hainiu fans even more is that Hainiu has played two more matches than their two relegation rivals. Next, Hainiu will face defending champions Harbor and direct relegation rival Three Towns. If they still cannot earn points, it will basically mean locking in a relegation spot.
