Julian Alvarez admits his mistake, pledges commitment to Atletico after a conversation with coach Simeone

Julian Alvarez directly admitted to his teammates that the way he managed the Barcelona-related matter was not suitable. Following a short discussion with manager Diego Simeone, the Argentine forward promptly resumed training with Atletico Madrid and was included in the first-choice attack group during certain exercises.

The future of Julian Alvarez at Atletico Madrid is showing signs of a positive shift after several days of uncertainty fueled by rumors of a move to Barcelona.

According to Cadena SER, Alvarez proactively spoke with his teammates in the dressing room to explain the current situation. Notably, the 26-year-old striker admitted that the issue was not about a desire to transfer, but rather about his attitude and the way he handled the future-story.

Reporter Miguel Martin Talavera stated that Alvarez made it clear to his teammates that he remains fully committed to the Atletico colors. "Julian said that his commitment to Atletico comes above everything else. Whether he has one year, three years, or just two days left on his contract with Atletico, the club must always come first," Talavera revealed.

This is seen as the first time Alvarez has directly expressed this stance in front of his teammates. Previously, there were predictions that if Atletico firmly blocked his move to Barcelona, Alvarez might take a hardline approach to push the deal. However, Cadena SER believes this possibility has significantly decreased after the Argentine striker's latest remarks.

Talavera emphasized that Alvarez also acknowledged his mistakes in attitude and approach when the transfer story emerged. The relationship between Alvarez and coach Diego Simeone also shows no signs of serious strain.

According to Marca, Alvarez returned to Atletico's training schedule on August 11 and subsequently participated fully with the squad. Joining him in return were Alex Baena, Juan Musso, and Marcos Llorente. The first meeting between Alvarez and Simeone after the transfer turmoil received special attention.

The two had a brief conversation away from the cameras. According to Marca, Alvarez explained the current situation to Simeone without showing a confrontational attitude, while the Argentine tactician reiterated his position.

Simeone still considers Alvarez a key element in Atletico's plans. "The situation is very clear. The club made a decision and Miguel Ángel explained it very well. We are very happy to have Julian here," Simeone said.

The Atletico manager also affirmed that the club will continue to support Alvarez's professional development. "From a sporting perspective, we will help him continue to grow and develop.
