Erling Haaland recently received four Guinness World Records certificates for his standout career achievements. At 26, the Manchester City forward has built a portfolio of accomplishments that would impress even legendary footballers.

Haaland is honored with a series of Guinness records

Just a few days before the start of the new Premier League season, Erling Haaland had another memorable moment when he was awarded four Guinness World Records certificates at the Etihad Stadium.

The Norwegian striker could not hide his joy as he held the certificates marking special milestones in his career. The image of Haaland intently gazing at his own records even prompted Guinness World Records to humorously ask: "Do you wish someone looked at you the way Erling looks at his certificates?"

At 26, Haaland has become one of the most feared strikers in the world. And his collection of records keeps growing.

Haaland joined Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund before the 2022/23 season and almost immediately made a huge impact on English football. In just over three years, he transformed from a promising attacking talent in European football into one of the most feared goal-scoring machines in the Premier League.

In his very first season with Manchester City, Haaland set a record. He scored 36 goals in 38 Premier League matches in the 2022/23 season, becoming the player with the most goals in a Premier League season under the 38-match format. This achievement surpassed the record of 32 goals set by Mohamed Salah for Liverpool in the 2017/18 season.

Haaland even surpassed the 34-goal mark that Andy Cole and Alan Shearer had jointly set in the 1993/94 and 1994/95 seasons. Notably, when Cole and Shearer scored 34 goals, the Premier League had 42 matches. In contrast, Haaland needed only 38 games to score 36 goals. That was an almost unbeatable debut for a striker playing in the Premier League for the first time.

Haaland's latest record came on December 2, 2025, in the match between Manchester City and Fulham. The Norwegian striker successfully converted a penalty to reach 100 Premier League goals in just 111 matches. This is the fastest rate in the league's history for a player to reach 100 goals.

Haaland's goal-scoring ability is not only evident in a Manchester City shirt. For the Norwegian national team, the striker born in 2000 currently holds the record for the most goals in UEFA Nations League history. Haaland has scored 19 goals in this competition from September 4, 2020, to November 17, 2024, four more than the next closest player.

If his numbers in the Premier League show incredible consistency, then his Champions League record is proof of Haaland's explosive ability on Europe's biggest stage.

On March 14, 2023, in the match between Manchester City and RB Leipzig, Haaland scored five goals in a single Champions League game. He thus equaled the record previously set by Lionel Messi and Luiz Adriano. That performance also became one of the most memorable individual displays in Champions League history.

Not only does he make headlines on the pitch, but Haaland has also become one of the most beloved football figures on social media. Guinness World Records stated that the Norwegian striker gained about 24 million new Instagram followers during the 2026 World Cup.

Haaland's popularity does not come solely from his goals. His humorous personality, entertaining post-match interviews, and somewhat "naive" everyday image give him a unique appeal.

In particular, the image of Haaland returning home after the World Cup with a stuffed raccoon in his hand once caused a social media frenzy. Many fans even turned getting a reply or interaction from Haaland on Instagram into a "trend."

With his incredible goal-scoring rate and still very young age, Haaland's collection of Guinness World Records certificates is likely to keep growing in the years to come.
