Midfielder Tran Minh Vuong unexpectedly leaves Dong Nai Club despite just having an explosive season, making significant contributions to help the team earn the right to play in V.League 2026/27.
Tran Minh Vuong has agreed to terminate his contract with Dong Nai Club right before the new season. This decision surprised many because the 1995-born player had just delivered an impressive performance in the historic journey of the Southeast region team.
In the 2025/26 season, Minh Vuong played an important role in Dong Nai's lineup. The former HAGL midfielder made 23 appearances in all competitions, scored 9 goals and was voted as Best Player of the First Division. His contributions helped Dong Nai secure early promotion to V.League 2026/27.
Not only making a mark professionally, Minh Vuong also became the spiritual leader of the team when standing alongside his former HAGL teammates like Cong Phuong, Xuan Truong or Van Son. Therefore, his departure from Dong Nai right after a successful season creates even more regret.
Coach Nguyen Viet Thang also confirmed this farewell when sending a thank you message to his student. On his personal page, the 1981-born coach wrote: "Thank you for coming and a little sad for leaving. Wish you success in your new environment."
In the latest training session, the coaching staff and Dong Nai players organized a farewell and gave flowers to Minh Vuong. In response to that affection, the 31-year-old midfielder sent a thank you to Coach Viet Thang for the support during his time with the team.
Minh Vuong spent more than a decade wearing the HAGL shirt before moving to Dong Nai. He is considered one of the most experienced domestic midfielders in Vietnamese football with his long-range shooting, free kicks and smart playing mindset. Although leaving Dong Nai at an emotional time, Minh Vuong's next journey still receives much expectation as he continues to seek new challenges in his career.
