0The Cong Viettel demonstrates significant ambition before the 2026/27 season by consistently recruiting prominent players. The armed forces club has recently made headlines with its bold actions in the transfer market.
The Cong Viettel continues its active activities in the transfer market ahead of the 2026/27 season. On August 12, the military team officially announced the completion of the recruitment of three Brazilian players: Andre Luiz, Hernandes, and Lucas Ribamar. These are considered notable additions after The Cong Viettel finished as runners-up in the 2025/26 V-League.
Among the three newcomers, Andre Luiz, born in 1995, is expected to reinforce the defense. The Brazilian center-back has a strong physique, excels in one-on-one battles and aerial duels. Besides his power, Andre Luiz is also praised for his situational awareness and interception skills. His arrival shows The Cong Viettel is heading towards a more competitive appearance.
Hernandes, born in 1999, is a player capable of playing both as a midfielder and a forward. The Brazilian newcomer has spent several years playing in South Korea, notably with Incheon United and Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors. He also has experience in the AFC Champions League, thus providing additional options for The Cong Viettel's attack.
The name most familiar to Vietnamese fans is Lucas Ribamar. The forward, born in 1997, came through Botafogo's youth system, played for several clubs in Brazil, and had a stint with TSV 1860 Munich in Germany. Ribamar then moved to Vietnam to play for Dong A Thanh Hoa before transferring to SHB Da Nang at the start of 2026.
In the past season, Ribamar left his mark while playing for SHB Da Nang and was one of the notable figures in their attack. In particular, the Brazilian striker scored in a 4-0 victory over Thanh Hoa in the final round, helping the Han River team achieve their goal of staying in the V-League for 2025/26. His experience in the V-League means Ribamar is expected to integrate quickly.
The simultaneous addition of Andre Luiz, Hernandes, and Lucas Ribamar shows that The Cong Viettel is determined to upgrade its squad. After finishing as runners-up in the 2025/26 V-League, the military team not only aims to maintain competitiveness but also wants to get closer to the goal of conquering the title in the 2026/27 season.
