Kravatskhelia and Desire Doue shine as PSG win the European Super Cup

PSG exhibited the composure of a Champions League-winning side as they overcame Aston Villa 2-1 to lift the European Super Cup. Goals came from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Désiré Doué, with Ousmane Dembélé providing the decisive assist.

PSG deservedly crowned champions

The match was held at Stadion Salzburg in Austria, where PSG entered as the Champions League winners and Aston Villa as the Europa League champions. PSG fielded a strong eleven but left Dembélé on the bench. Coach Unai Emery also surprised everyone by handing a starting spot to young talent Brian Madjo.

This goal earned Madjo a place in European Super Cup history. At 17 years and 212 days old, he became the youngest player ever to score in the competition. Earlier, Madjo had already set the record as the youngest starter in a European Super Cup match.

Villa started the second half with great energy. McGinn unleashed a dangerous curling shot from outside the box, forcing goalkeeper Matvei Safonov into a save. However, PSG took advantage of Aston Villa's high pressing. In the 61st minute, Dembélé, who had just been introduced, played a precise through ball for Doué to run onto. The PSG striker calmly slotted past Bizot to restore the lead.

Aston Villa immediately intensified their attack. Coach Unai Emery brought on Tammy Abraham and Ross Barkley in hopes of finding an equalizer. However, PSG's defense remained solid and denied the opposition any clear-cut opportunities.
