Thể Công Viettel signs three Brazilian imports at once

To prepare for the 2026/27 campaign, Thể Công Viettel has further bolstered its roster, unveiling three overseas recruits—Andre Luiz, Hernandes, and Lucas Ribamar—all at once.

On August 12, Thể Công Viettel FC announced the completion of the recruitment of three Brazilian players: Andre Luiz, Hernandes, and Lucas Ribamar. These are notable additions for the army-backed club ahead of the new season.

Andre Luiz, born in 1995, is expected to strengthen the defense. The Brazilian center-back boasts a solid physique, excels in duels and aerial battles, and is highly regarded for his reading of the game and interception ability.

Meanwhile, Hernandes, born in 1999, can operate both as a midfielder and forward. The new recruit has spent several years playing in South Korea, notably for Incheon United and Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, and has experience in the AFC Champions League. With his speed and individual technique, Hernandes is expected to add unpredictability to Thể Công Viettel's wide attacking options.

The most familiar name to V-League fans is Lucas Ribamar. The striker, born in 1997, came through Botafogo's youth system and has played for several clubs in Brazil as well as TSV 1860 Munich in Germany. Ribamar arrived in Vietnam to play for Dong A Thanh Hoa before moving to SHB Da Nang in early 2026.

In the past season, Ribamar was one of the standout figures in SHB Da Nang's attack. Notably, the Brazilian forward scored in a 4-0 victory over Thanh Hoa on the final matchday, helping the Han River club achieve its goal of staying in the V-League for the 2025/26 season.

The simultaneous addition of Andre Luiz, Hernandes, and Lucas Ribamar underscores Thể Công Viettel's ambitions for the 2026/27 season. After finishing as runners-up in the 2025/26 V-League, the army-backed club is actively upgrading its squad with the aim of competing for titles in the new campaign.
