Despite leading at one point and creating an intense, balanced contest, coach Diego Giustozzi's team allowed the opponent to turn the game around in the final minutes.

Hong Yen Takam is considered a high-quality "blue army," having won the Thai national futsal championship multiple times and possessing a strong squad, including foreign players. Against this experienced opponent, Vietnam's futsal national team confidently started the match and engaged in an attacking exchange from the outset.

The first half was balanced with continuous back-and-forth exchanges. In the 15th minute, the Vietnam team seized an opportunity to take the lead after a shot by Vu Ngoc Anh. However, this advantage was short-lived as the home team quickly equalized, bringing the match to a 1-1 balance before halftime.

Entering the second half, the pace of the match continued to intensify. Hong Yen Takam took the lead from a set-piece situation, forcing Vietnam's futsal national team to increase pressure.
