Vietnam's national team rises 5 places, returning to the top 100 in the world.

Compared to its previous position of 103, Vietnam's team surpassed Tajikistan, Trinidad & Tobago, Mozambique, and El Salvador. The team under coach Kim Sang-sik ascended to FIFA's 98th ranking, the highest position since the 94th mark in December 2023. The team's record remains the 84th position from September 1998.

In recent years, Vietnam's lowest position was 119th in October 2024. Since coach Kim Sang-sik took charge, the team has progressed again on the FIFA table, with 13 consecutive victories across all competitions.

Returning to the world's top 100 is considered a significant milestone for Vietnam's national team in its journey to reaffirm its status in the region and continent. Previously, Vietnam maintained a ranking within the world's top 100 group under coach Park Hang-seo.

Under the guidance of coach Kim Sang-sik, Vietnam's national team is demonstrating stable performance. After winning the ASEAN Cup 2024, the team continued to secure a spot in the Asian Cup 2027 finals with a perfect winning record in Group F.

Returning to the world's Top 100 not only reflects the improvement in points on the FIFA ranking table but also shows positive signals in the process of rebuilding the squad and playing style of Vietnam's national team towards major future goals.

Vietnam's national team currently ranks 17th in Asia and 2nd in Southeast Asia. Thailand continues to lead the region at the 93rd FIFA position with 1,252.14 points. Their 2-1 victory over Turkmenistan in Bangkok on March 31 helped them advance one place, pushing China down to the 94th position.
