Korean media lavishes praise on the Vietnamese national team after their victory over Malaysia, particularly impressed with Xuân Son and Hoàng Hên during their flawless winning streak.

The 3-1 victory over Malaysia on March 31st not only solidified Vietnam's position as the top team in Group F but also sparked a genuine frenzy in the Land of Kimchi. Major newspapers such as Yonhap News and Osen and Daum uniformly expressed admiration for the powerful new appearance of the "Golden Star Warriors" under Coach Kim Sang-sik.

The Yonhap News asserted that the Vietnamese national team executed a sweet revenge for last year's 0-4 defeat. The newspaper wrote: “Dispel the nightmare of last year's disastrous defeat with your skills... Impressive balance in both attack and defense, along with superior ball control and match dominance.”

Particularly, Korean media showed great interest in Nguyễn Xuân Son - whom they respectfully dubbed the "Brazilian Speed King". With his classy headed brace, Xuân Son proved his worth as a top-tier striker.

“Nguyễn Filip's saves and the destructive power of the 'Brazilian Speed King' truly stood out... Fans are eagerly anticipating his performance in the upcoming Asian Cup,” the Yonhap News emphasized.

Not only Xuân Son, Đỗ Hoàng Hên also received a "perfect score" from Korean media for his creative and linking play abilities. The synergy between this duo helped Vietnam maintain a suffocating attacking tempo.

Yonhap News praised the impressive balance between attack and defense of the team under Coach Kim Sang-sik

The Osen commented: “Vietnam maintained dominance throughout the match thanks to the balance between attack and defense, along with good organizational skills, demonstrating excellent execution in high-intensity pressing tactics.”

This victory also marks a historic milestone as Coach Kim Sang-sik extended his winning streak to 13 matches, far surpassing the record of 6 consecutive wins set by his predecessor Park Hang-seo in 2022.

The Daum quoted the Korean coach: “The players executed the tactics we prepared well... The positive aspect is that we maintained balance in attack and defense.”

With a perfect 6 wins out of 6 matches in the qualifying round, the Vietnamese national team not only reclaimed honor after controversies surrounding opponent's naturalized players but also sent a resolute message to the continent. Korean media believes that, with the perfect coordination between domestic stars and quality naturalized talents, Kim Sang-sik's team is a strong contender for surprises in Saudi Arabia next year.

The astonishing stability and a 17-match unbeaten streak across all competitions are the clearest evidence of a brilliant new era for Vietnamese football.
