Vietnam U23 led early but was held to a 1-1 draw by North Korea in their opening match of the CFA Team China 2026 tournament.

On March 25 afternoon, Vietnam U23 team began their opening match of the CFA Team China International Football Tournament – Xi'an 2026 against North Korea U23. Despite taking an early lead from the very first minutes, the squad under head coach Dinh Hong Vinh had to settle for a point after a 1-1 draw against an opponent known for their strong physical foundation and powerful style of play.

Right after the opening whistle, North Korea U23 proactively pushed their formation high, organized pressing, and exerted pressure on Vietnam U23's half. However, in the first notable attacking situation, Vietnam U23 effectively seized the opportunity to take the lead.
